All Hail Lux Nocturna! (Part 2)
As the fragments of her former self dissolved into shimmering stardust, Genesis found herself reborn in a realm beyond understanding—a luminous tapestry of chaos and beauty. The cosmic vessel that she now embodied was a testament to the dark bargain that she stuck. She was living masterpiece stitched from the remnants of her humanity and the uncharted power gifted by the mysterious dark force. Yet, beneath the radiant veneer, whispers of her past and the shadows of her sacrifice still linger, hinting that her journey is far from over. As she regained consciousness, Genesis was startled by a large shadowy figure that stood before her. It only took mere seconds for her to realize that this was the thing that was responsible for her transformation. "Is... is it done? Am I… like you said I would be?" Genesis asked. The demon responded: "Not quite yet, little one. You are far from finished. What you see now is only the beginning—the birth of something new." "Is this really what I wanted? I don’t even recognize myself anymore." Genesis said. ""That’s the price of true transformation. Humanity is a cage that must be broken if you seek greatness. Do you understand what you’ve accepted?" Genesis's voice began to tremble. "I... I don’t know. But I won’t turn back. Whatever this is, I want to see what I can become." The demon responds, "Good. The universe is vast, and your journey is only beginning. But remember—power is a double-edged sword. Use it wisely, or be consumed by it." The shadowy figure then disappeared into the darkness leaving Genesis to think and reflect on the choice that she made. As she wandered about the cosmos, she began to feel a strange emptiness inside her. This had nothing to do with emotion, more about starvation. She then began to feel the presence of something coming towards her. It was a galaxy filled with alien planets of which she has never seen the likes of before. It was gradually moving towards her as if it was fulfilling an unspoken request. The galaxy then began to insert itself into Genesis's metaphysical body with relative ease. A sudden burst of energy flooded her body unlike anything she has ever felt before. "Woah...that felt...amazing!" Genesis exclaimed. This was the moment that she learned that she can eat entire planets and galaxies and gain more power. She proceeded to eat up more planets and galaxies like a kid at candy store. However, moments before she could go on a feeding frenzy, Genesis felt a sharp pain at the very center of her body. The gravity had shifted and everything was moving in a sporadic manner. The mysterious voice then returned as a friendly but grim warning to Genesis: "Power is a double-edged sword. Use it wisely, or be consumed by it." Soon enough, Genesis's "vitals" would return to normal and everything in the environment seemingly set itself right back into its original place. Learning her lesson, Genesis decided to return to her home galaxy in order to observe what was going on on planet Earth.
When Genesis returned to Earth, she was stunned to see what had happened to the city of Purgatory. The world had pretty much become a living, breathing cesspool of degeneracy. It was as if the chaos was turned all the way up to 11. Genesis could her the screams of dozens of men and women that were drowning in pain (and/or pleasure). She became so disgusted at the sights and sounds that she disappeared into a new galaxy and began formulating a plan on how to terrorize the population of Purgatory for her own amusement. She decided that she would masquerade as a human being on Earth and simply eat whoever she pleases....or whoever decides to piss her off. Ironically, her first unlucky victim was a soldier who worked for the Wolfhounds. In what seemed like an ugly situation, he had a group of drug addicts and vagabonds at gunpoint. Genesis watched from a distance as this man was hurling insults and commands at these people. Suddenly, a dark storm cloud hovered above everyone that was present. The soldier heard a faint, childlike laughter come from directly behind him. It was Genesis, or rather, the last decaying memory of her from when the orphanage had burned down. The soldier took a step back in complete shock. "W-What the hell? Ain't you supposed to be de-". Before the soldier could get another word out, the ghostly little girl pulled her hair back to reveal a gigantic mouth with teeth that looked razor sharp. The entire crowd of people screamed in terror as black tendrils emerged and began violently pulling the soldier towards her mouth. He was quite literally chomped into bits by the little monstrosity. Soon after, the little girl smiled and waved at whoever was left frozen in fear by what they just saw and disappeared into the night. The remaining individuals simply had no idea what they had just witnessed.
Genesis’s legend soon began to spread throughout the city, her terrifying and awe-inspiring transformation sparks the emergence of a cult that currently boasts an impressive number of dedicated members. Followers believe she is a divine entity—an embodiment of chaos and rebirth—sent to reshape the universe according to her primal will. They refer to her as Lux Nocturna, the Nightlight of the Darkness, venerating her as a goddess of transformation, destruction, and renewal.
This cult is characterized by esoteric rituals where devotees meditate in the presence of cosmic imagery, seeking to align themselves with her chaotic energy. They believe that through devotion, they can gain glimpses of her cosmic power or even become her chosen vessels. Some followers see her as a liberator who will free them from the constraints of their mortal existence, while others fear her wrath and unpredictable nature. In the present day, the cult’s influence grows, spreading across all corners of Purgatory where there are secret enclaves and temples dedicated to her. Leaders within the cult interpret her actions and words as divine prophecies, guiding their followers to prepare for her eventual return—or her complete dominion over the universe.
